Has the worm wriggled into your iPhone?

"Ikee is never gonna give you up"

It was only a matter of time before it happened again. Another worm has found its way into iPhones.

Luckily for us, it’s based in the Netherlands at the moment and is busy trying to get hold of bank details, apparently, as it attacks those using their phones for internet banking.

It’s only affecting jail-broken phones (mobiles that have been modified to accept non-Apple software – tut-tut) and have SSH (secure shell) installed and haven’t changed the password.

The worm was discovered by security company F-Secure, and research director Mikko Hypponen told the BBC:

“It’s the second iPhone worm ever and the first that’s clearly malicious – there’s a clear financial motive behind it.”

Still, it could be worse. You could be getting a picture of Rick Astley imprinted on your iPhone. Wait – wasn’t that the last worm…?
